Man Who Struck, Killed Victim With Car Intentionally Gets 13 Years: Union County Prosecutor

A 29-year-old Orange man was sentenced to 13 years in state prison on Friday, March 8, after killed a 30-year-old Newark man by deliberately hitting him with his car in Elizabeth in 2021, authorities said.

On April 3, 2021, Kareem Allen got into a verbal altercation with Malcom Webb at a restaurant in Elizabeth on Dickinson Street, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca, and Elizabeth Police Director Earl Graves said. 

Allen, Webb and others exited the restaurant and Allen proceeded to enter his car and deliberately strike Webb before fleeing the scene, authorities said. Elizabeth police responded to the scene and found Webb suffering from serious injuries, which he later died from, authorities said.

Allen had pled guilty to aggravated manslaughter in January, authorities said.
